SN74LVC8T245: Query regarding VOH

The table shows the minimum V_OH with an output current of 32 mA. With a smaller load, the output voltage can reach V_CC; see [FAQ] What is the output voltage (VOH or VOL) when the output current is X or the supply voltage is Y?

We want to operate relay having coil current consumption of 28mA. This translator's IOL is 32mA. The difference is very small. What do you suggest we should use it for this application or not? Also in datasheet's absolute rating, IO(continuous output current) is given 50mA. 

It is possible to use this device, but there will be a noticeable V_OL. To reduce the voltage drop, use multiple outputs in parallel.

Thanks for the response... Can you please tell me what is IO(continuous output current) mentioned in Absolute max ratings. Is it absolute maximum rating of each output pin?? And still confused why I need to use multiple outputs because I am driving relay on LOW output level. Can you please explain in detail for my knowledge.

32 mA is the largest current for which a voltage drop (V_OL) is guaranteed.
50 mA is the current where the device might get damaged.

If you try to use 44 mA, the device will not get damaged, but the V_OL might be so large that not enough voltage is left for the relay.

As per my knowledge VOL(Low level output voltage) is voltage level that the output can provide when it is driven low. Can you please explain about the voltage drop which you are saying?? Your response would be very helpful for me.

With voltage drop, I mean V_OL − GND or V_CC − V_OH.

But in my case there wont be any issue if VOL will be 0.5 because relay's must operate voltage is 3.25V and I am connecting Relay's coil to 5V and VOL.

So relay's coil voltage will atleast be 4.5V and that is enough for the relay to operate
