TXB0104: Functional Block Diagram 2 channels mean A2/3 need have to be in same direction?

Hi TI,

Regarding to TXB0104 functional block diagram, is that mean A2/3 need have to be in same direction?
For example, they have to be A2-->B2 and A3-->B3?
Or they can be used as A2-->B2 and B3-->A3 at the same time?
