TXB0304: LEVEL TRANSLATOR FOR PSEUDO OPEN DRAIN CONFIGURATION

Part Number: TXB0304
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCA9306, TCA9800, LSF0102

Hi,

We are using the Arria 10 FPGA 10AX115S2F45I1SG2 as master device which as pseudo open drain I2C configuration with voltage level of 1.2V. We need to connect with I2C slave device with voltage level of 1.8V. Kindly help us to get the level translator for this configuration. Can we use TXB0304 level translator for this configuration.

Thanks

TXB translators do not work with I²C.

You need a general-purpose translator with open-drain outputs like the LSF0102/PCA9306, or an I²C translator like the TCA9800. (The pseudo open drain is essentially open drain with an integrated pullup, so you probably do not need an external pull-up resistor on the 1.2 V segment of the I²C bus. When using the TCA980x, the A side must be connected to the FPGA.)
