TXB0106: Request product recommendation

Hi, TI support team

My customer is developing a product using the TXB0106.

It is used as a level shifter for SPI communication.

They are being converted to 1.8V and 3.3V.

However, in case of communicating at the speed of 100Mbps, the system does not communicate. In the case of 1.8V and 3.3V conversion, the data rate is 60Mbps.

Please recommend a product that uses all 6 channels, can communicate in both directions at 1.8V and 3.3V, and supports a data rate of 100Mbps or higher.

    Hey MJ,

    Could you confirm if the application being implemented is SPI and not QSPI? Typically SPI signals consist of 4 data lines and do not communicate in both directions. If this is the case, devices such as the TXU0304 or the AXC4T774 can be used for SPI communication. 

    If you are referring to QSPI, the TXB0106 will not be able to support 100Mbps at 1.8V to 3.3V translation (max data rate at this voltage node is 60Mbps). There isn't an immediate solution that can be used to satisfy your system needs, but you can use a TXB0304 + TXB0302 combination for 1.8V to 3.3V translation that will meet the required speed of 100Mbps. Just ensure that the capacitive loading condition are kept to a minimum by having short PCB trace lengths as well as other parasitic capacitances.
