I'm looking to see if TI has an alternative to the SN74F543 that is available in through-hole packaging (PDIP).

Hi Chris,
This device is fairly old so there may not be a suitable replacement. What is your use-case here? I see that this has separate LE and OE pins. Is there a need for these LE pins or does a generic 8-ch bus transceiver work such as https://www.ti.com/product/SN74HCS245 (this does not have a PDIP package but I want to figure out your need first so we can look into devices with a PDIP)
The generic will not work. I need the separate LE and OE pins because I am enabling or disabling a 16bit bus with the 74F543 with a slide switch, depending on which system the card is going to be installed in. I may just have to have this IC as SMD.
Hi Chris,
Unfortunately there is no replacement with LE pins. The best that I can recommend is https://www.ti.com/product/SN74HCT623 with two OE pins for A/B sides.
