I am quite skeptical, I know that there are new production methods with RoHs.
But in my sector of activity which is operational maintenance, technicians stop using these components that they think are defective.
Can you give me information on the date code of the components below ? Thank you.

From what I can see there’s nothing that makes me think it is a counterfeit device. I can check the date codes for you though. Do you have a picture of the devices from the top so I can see the codes?

These devices are valid devices. There should be nothing to worry about especially when purchased from an authorized distributor.

Just to add on to this, the reason why they look different is because the non-roughened leadframe device (normal looking) is from ~7 years ago.

The roughened lead frames were added to this device within the the past 5 years. This aligns with your other device which was produced in 2022 and it has a "rusted" look because of the roughened leadframe.

I don't understand why the non-roughened lead frame is still present on rohs products?
These are E4 green products, therefore lead and rust free. They seem to have been oxidized and then cleaned because the inside and outside of the pins are different.
specially with the traces that can be observed on the pins...We also observe the bare copper coming out of the case, there could be a risk of migration towards the interior.
 in my opinion it is dangerous to use such component and ensure a legitimate lifespan.
