What is the difference in the lead finish between SN74LVCH245APW and SN74LVCH245APWR? I am not familiar with lead finish NIPDAU | SN (versus just NIPDAU).

Hi Bob,

This just means it can be either finish. It is not referring to a combo of NiPdAu and Sn.

Thank you for the reply. Is this just a new version of "don't care"? We used to use "X" as a wild card when we did not care about the finish but that has become an issue since that is not a valid part number.

Hi Bob,

This is due to a multi-site device. Different fabs may use different lead finishes. Generally, if a customer does not want a SN finish, we have a "G4" part number for specifically only NiPdAu finishes.
