Wants to check what is default output level of revision A and revision G? Can it be trimmed to another default level?

There is no default output level (see [FAQ] What is the default output of a latched device? (Flip-Flop, latch, register)).

The SN74HC174 would have a /CLR input that you could connect to a reset signal. Only devices with fewer flip-flops (SN74HCS72, SN74LVC1G74) have separate clear and preset inputs.
