SN74LV1T00-Q1: 1.8V to 5V Level Shift

If a level shift of 1.8V to 5V is needed, do I need to go through two 74LV1T00 gates?
For example 1.8V to 3.3V using a Vcc of 3.3 V on gate 1, then 3.3V to 5V using a Vcc of 5V on gate 2?
Or can it be done with one gate using a Vcc of 5V?

    The VIH min at VCC = 5V is 2V. So, you would need to chain two gates to reliably get them to translate from 1.8V to 5V.

    You could also consider using one of our 1.8V open drain NAND gates and using a pull-up for the voltage translation as shown here:
