You may see the LVC or the newer LXC families (SN74LVC8T245 or SN74LXC8T245 for example).

CLVC16T245MDGGREP - Overvoltage tolerance is listed for control inputs. what is the overvoltage tolerance for data inputs? Does it vary with supply voltage(VCCA & VCCB)

The device is rated for 5.5V. All inputs can support 5.5V with VCCA & VCCB ≤ 5.5V, thanks.
