Is part# TIBPAL20L8-15CNT Rohs or Non-Rohs? Why website like Digikey show it as "Rohs"? Can you guys share doc?
If you acquired this part from an authorized distributor, then you also got documentation about its RoHS status.
If you acquired this part from anywhere else, nothing can be said about what you actually have.
As far as I know, the only authorized distributor for this discontinued part is Rochester Electronics.
At my age, nothing surprises me anymore. TI doesn't know their own parts...Anyone at TI, going for "Second"?
I am not a TI employee.
The last devices that were sold by TI (and that ended up at Rochester Electronics) certainly were RoHS, but I do not know how old your device is.
Hi Brandon,
This is a public forum and Clemens helps answer many questions throughout TI product lines. You can see if someone is a TI employee by their tag next to their name.
As for information regarding this device, it is a 30+ year old device that has been obsolete for almost 10 years. As Clemens said in his responses, Rochester Electronics (Digikey does not distribute this device anymore) shows that the devices they have are RoHS compliant (pulled directly from the datasheet).
Where was this part acquired from? If this device is an older device, RoHS compliance was not set until 2003.
What is the reason that prompted this question? As you also stated that Digikey does state compliance as well.
Thanks Clemens. I reached out to Rochester Electronics and they have yet get back to me yet. However, My test is showing as Non-Rohs-High content of LEAD.
Hi Brandon,
I see your test reasoning now. Is there a way to determine when this part was acquired? As I stated in my previous response, anything before 2003 did not need to pass RoHS compliance.
I resolved this with Rochester. No further actions needed. Thanks Clemens for shinning in ; Case Closed!
