Hi Team,

My customer has some queries regarding the SN74LVC8T245. Can you please help answer the below?  


• Clarify whether the above mentioned part supports for UART Communication?
• Clarify the minimum and maximum data rate/baud rate, frequency of above mentioned part?

Their requirement is to convert the LVTTL signals to UART. This LVTTL signals are routed through the aforementioned component (transceiver).
Since the UART operates at a low frequency, they need to know the responses to the above questions before finalizing the component.

    This device can support UART signals. However, all eight channels go in the same direction, which would not be useful for TX and RX. Consider a translator like the TXU0202, or TXU0204 for more channels.

    All these translators support many MHz; there is no minimum speed.
