TXB0108: Pull down resistor for OE

Part Number: TXB0108

Hello team,

How can I calculate pulldown resistor value for OE?

On the datasheet section 10, it says "The minimum value of the pulldown resistor to ground is determined by the current-sourcing capability of the driver."
How can I calculate the pulldown resistor value for OE?

Also what if I use this device with OE = VCCA = VCCB?
Will it cause malfunction of the device?

Also the recommended operating condition states that VIH for OE is 5.5V (MAX), while supply voltage for VCCA is only up to 3.6V (MAX).
Is it okay to input voltage higher than VCCA to OE ?

  • You need the pull-down resistor only if you want the default state to be off, and want to enable the translator later with a microcontroller.

The datasheet alludes to the minimum value, but not to the maximum value. In practice, just use 10 kΩ.

Both supplies are allowed to be the same. (But you could just as well remove the chip then.)

The OE input is overvoltage tolerant; you can connect it to either supply.
