SN74LV6T17: input signal when device is powered OFF

Part Number: SN74LV6T17
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXV0106

Hello team,

Can I input 1.8V to the input pins, when the device is powered OFF?

I see, there is no clamp diode from input to Vcc, so I am assuming its okay.

Best Regards,
Kei Kuwahara

  • Hi Kei,

Yes, this is okay with over-voltage tolerant inputs where Vi can be greater than Vcc, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.

  • Hi Michael-san,

Thank you for your quick answer!

What about output pin? Can Vo be greater than Vcc?
Does output pin have ioff feature?

The Abs Max says "Voltage range applied to any output in the high-impedance or power-off state", but I don't find any ioff feature mentioned on the datasheet.

    Best Regards,
    Kei Kuwahara

  • Hi Kei-San,

Unfortunately, I do not see any Ioff spec in the electrical characteristics. Indicating Ioff feature not applicable.

Please note that output voltage of single supply level shifters = Vcc.

I would further recommend a 6 ch dual supply level shifter like TXV0106 - with Ioff and Vcc Isolation feature where the outputs will be in high-impedance with either supplies < 100 mV.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
