CD74HC125: Contain different electronic size

I have two different x-ray images from the same part and the one with small package is failing to operate. Need additional support for the failure analysis.

SMT73900135 Date code 9CA6KNK

SMT74510039 Date code 23CSKKK (smaller package in the center of the chip)

    The die was redesigned (see PCN#20200629000.1A). The new device is faster, uses less power, and has some hysteresis at the inputs, but is still inside the limits guaranteed by the datasheet.

    Apparently, your circuit relies on some characteristic that is not guaranteed by the datasheet. Please clarify what you mean with "failing to operate"; it might be useful to show oscilloscope traces of the input and output signals.
