Hi,

There is a sentence like this in the TXS0102 datasheet. (pg. 15, section 8.3.1)

To minimize dynamic ICC and the possibility of signal contention, the user should wait for the O.S. circuit to turn off before applying a signal in the opposite direction.

What exactly is meant here? Also can you give an example?

The one-short circuit drives the output high for a short time. During this time, no other device should drive the line low.

Two devices trying to drive different voltages at the same time should not happen in a properly designed system.

A device on side B is driving the line low; a device on side A begins to drive the line high.
