TXS0108E: Failed to reach normally after restarting

HI TI,

High probability, my TXS0108ERGYR device don't work normally sometimes, when power on. The phenomenon is as follows:

When the MCU_RST_N_1V8 are changed by low to high, the voltage level will climb in two stages, causing my system to be abnormal.

Do you have any suggestions on how we can debug this?

Hey Delun,

The oscillations seen can be as a result of the output loading conditions exceeding 70pF as referenced in section 7.3.3 of the datasheet (note that the TXS0108E does not provide any buffering on its own). Since the signals per channel appear to be fixed direction, you may see our fixed direction/ direction controlled translators for a more robust solution.

How should I measure to determine if this is the cause? Can you give me suggestions? Or how can I improve the current situation?

In addition, my project is already in the mass production stage. If materials need to be changed, can you recommend any pin-to-pin solutions? Thanks.

Hey Delun,

You can try removing the heavy load on the outputs and retest to see if signal integrity improves. If so, that will give confirmation on the source of issue. What is the data rate and the length of PCB trace/ cable you are trying to drive the signal across?

Unfortunately, there isn't a P2P option with the TXS0108ERGYR that can be swapped out as a drop-in replacement.
