LSF0002: 2 bit application

Part Number: LSF0002

Tool/software:

Hi,

Does TI have a 2-bit bidirectional buffer (push-pull) solution? <= Do not suggest the TXB series because it requires over 100Kohm pull-up resistors and cannot be used.

The speed should support over 10Mbps.

By the way,

  1. For ICE TMS TCK signal
  2. 2-bit bidirectional buffer (Push-pull) solution with auto-detect direction
  3. Speed of at least 2-3Mbps, preferably over 10Mbps
  4. Signal needs to be reinforced due to long cable length, signal regeneration (repeater) would be preferable

Thanks!

Jeff

  • In the general case, bidirectional buffering is not possible, because when the voltages at the two sides are different, the buffer does not know which side should override the other one. (LSF/TXS devices prioritize low voltages over high voltages, which works only for open-drain protocols like I²C. TXB devices have low drive strength and require other devices to have a higher drive strength.)

  • Hey Jeff,

As of right now, there isn't a device in our portfolio that supports push-pull buffering with auto-bidirectionality. You may need to reduce cable lengths to achieve better signal integrity.
