I've used the SN74LVC family's DPW (X2SON) on many boards and every-time during layout review the same question comes up. Can you GND the NC? The datasheet (e.g. SN74LVC1G07) does not specifically say that you can GND NC, so we don't.
And since the GND pad is in the center of the device and unless your paying for laser via in pad, what you end up with is a 4mil trace GND trace with a 4mil Gap for it to escape.
This works, BUT it is right on the edge of mfg tolerances (e.g. 3/3 mi trace and space for good shops) and it WOULD be SO much cleaner to just GND the NC.
So i'm hoping you can provide a definitive answer here. Thanks.
