SN74AXC4T245: direction

Tool/software:

Can this level shifter only be configured to do one direction? Based on "Table 7-1 Function Table" from the datasheet, I feel it can only be configured to do one direction. 

But the datasheet says it's bidirectional! Why is it so?

    This device has two DIR inputs, each affecting two channels.

    What is the actual problem you're trying to solve?

    Hi Pragash,

    It is bi-directional in regards to the two banks of two channels being in different directions through the biasing of the two individual DIR input pins. If not sufficient, AXC4T774 has DIR pin for every channel to be configured specifically. 

    You may also help share block diagram/ schematics for further device recommendation.
