TPLD1201: Questions from TPLD potential customers

Part Number: TPLD1201
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPLD-ICS, TPLD801, , TPLD1202

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Here're a few questions from my customers about this part:

  • May I know whether the mark point of ICS only identifies the wave segment you want to view, or does it have any other function?
  • Is there a file for what functions this mark point performs?

  • Does the SPI used by the communication protocol between the TPLD EVM and the TPLD's Programmer mean that we can burn the TPLD later through our own program as long as the SPI protocol is compliant? Or must all go through TPLD's Programmer?

  • Is TPLD has multi boot capability?
  • This means that a burn that can burn several different functions is switched during runtime?

Thanks a lot!

Have a nice day!

Jenny

  • Hi Jenny,

I moved your thread over to the Logic forum as this product has no relation to MSP devices.

May I know whether the mark point of ICS only identifies the wave segment you want to view, or does it have any other function?

This is purely for simulation viewing you can see more details in the ICS User Guide posted to TPLD-DESIGN secure resource. We are working on uploading that to the TPLD-ICS tool page as we  speak.

Does the SPI used by the communication protocol between the TPLD EVM and the TPLD's Programmer mean that we can burn the TPLD later through our own program as long as the SPI protocol is compliant? Or must all go through TPLD's Programmer?

Devices TPLD1201, TPLD1202, and TPLD801 cannot be programmed in a custom setting. We are planning to release a reference design on interfacing the TPLD programmer with multiple sockets thus creating a gang programmer for the above devices. This is planning to be updated in future devices to support you can reach out through email for more info on those devices.

    • Is TPLD has multi boot capability?
    • This means that a burn that can burn several different functions is switched during runtime?

It is not. It has a single OTP memory bank it pulls from at startup.

    Regards,

    Owen
