SN74LVC07A: RJ45 LED driving with SN74LVC07A

Part Number: SN74LVC07A

Tool/software:

Hello support team,

Our customer would like to use the buffer chip for the RJ45's LED (68ohm with 3.3V) to make the blinking signal.

The current consumption would be about 50mA, is SN74LVC07A being suitable here?

We are not sure the "low" ability is relating to which spec. at datasheet?

Thanks.

Dave

  • Up to 24 mA, VOL is guaranteed. Up to 50 mA, no permanent damage is guaranteed.

Please note that the absolute maximum rating of the LED is a value that you should stay away from. Typically, you would use something like 5 mA or 10 mA.
