SN74AC8541-Q1: Max Δt/Δv recommended in datasheet whereas Schmitt trigger inputs ?

Part Number: SN74AC8541-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AC8541

Tool/software:

Hi,

I was looking for a buffer reference with Schmitt trigger inputs because I have a slow input signal.

I was happy to find this reference but I am suprised to see in the §5.3 Recommended Operating Conditions section of the datasheet that a max Δt/Δv is specified. On the contrary in §8.3.2 the datasheet states : "The SN74AC8541-Q1 has no input signal transition rate requirements because it has Schmitt-Trigger inputs."

Is it an error in the datasheet ? Or is there any real consideration to consider here ?

In addition the non automotive equivalent part SN74AC8541 explicitely writes Δt/Δv "Unlimited".

Thank you
