SN74LVC8T245: 5V tolerant or not, when powered by 3.3V?

Part Number: SN74LVC8T245

Tool/software:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have reviewed the latest SN74LVC8T245RHL datasheet (revised December 2022) and noted that the maximum input voltage (Vi max) for control inputs is 5.5V, regardless of Vcci and VCCo (refer to section 6.3, page 5/33). Good!

However, I am uncertain about the maximum voltage on IO pins when powered by 3.3V. It appears to be the Vcco max, which is 3.3V. Therefore, does this mean that the SN74LVC8T245RHL is not 5V tolerant when powered by 3.3V?

Could you please confirm this?

Many thanks and best regards,
