Hi Team,
We have a GPS module which can give an 1PPS signal out for time synchronization. We need to buffer this signal with 1 to n (1 Input of Gps-1pps to many). To achieve this we had planned to use a D'latch/1PPS driver or buffer. Browsing through your website I came across this part which had 22 channel D'Latch i.e., SN74AVC16722.
In our Case we have single input if 1pps and we need to buffer it. for better understanding please find the below attached block diagram.
Please suggest a solution for our requirement, whether we can use SN74AVC16722 part or any other part. In this part ( SN74AVC16722 ) we have 22 inputs and 22 Outputs.
Based on this i had stated my questions below.
Q1: Can we short all the inputs and connect to single input i.e., 1PPS input and connect all the 22 Outputs to 22 different locations?
Q2: Is it possible to have 1:N D'latch or 1PPS Buffer/driver.
Q3: Any considerations need to be taken care while implementing this approach.
Please share your inputs. Quick reply will be much appreciated.
Thanks and regards,
Teja.
Hi Teja,
Q1. Yes, you can short all of the inputs and connect the outputs to different locations.
Q2. We do not have a 1:N part that could do this without shorting the inputs.
Q3. No specific considerations other than the specs and requirements in the datasheet.
Best,
Ian
There are 1-to-8/10/12/18 buffers like the LMK1C1108/CDCLVC1110/CDCLVC1112/CDC318A.
Hi Clemens ladisch,
Thanks for the reply.
In our case we have a 3.3V CMOS 1PPS signal. Can we use CDCLVC1112, clock buffer which can provide 12 outputs.
Reason behind asking this query is for CDCLVC1112 it is an LVCMOS buffer. If not please suggest a CMOS buffer with the same 1 to 12 configuration.
with best regards,
Teja.
