SN74AVC2T245: Confirmation of applied circuits

Part Number: SN74AVC2T245
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXU0102, TXU0202

Tool/software:

Is it possible to perform A to B (B to A) level shift with the circuit shown below?
This is the first time to use this IC, so I would like to check it.

  • Hello Yuma,

Yes schematic looks correct. If DIR is pulled High, data will flow from A to B. If DIR is pulled Low, data will flow from B to A.

I would recommend using a weak pull-up resistor on OE pin to maintain I/Os in a Hi-Z state until the device is powered up. This helps avoid any output glitches from occurring during power-up.

    Regards,

    Josh

  • This will work. But when the DIR pins have fixed connections, you could just as well use a unidirectionla translator like the TXU0102/TXU0202.
