TXB0108: Minimum Pull-up Resistance

Part Number: TXB0108

Tool/software:

Hi,

My customer is using this device to translate from 1.8V to 3.3V

What is the minimum pull up resistance required to guarantee correct direction? (for both directions?) Thank you!

  • The TXB does not have a direction. The input and output buffers on both sides are always active, and the drive strength is extremely low (20 µA) to allow other devices to override the voltage. Therefore, any pull-up resistors must be larger than 50 kΩ (see section 7.3.5 of the datasheet).

If you have a pull-up, then it is likely that you also need one on the other side.

  • Hi Abigail,

In addition to Clemens' response, section 7.3.3 of the data sheet also discusses the input drive strength requirements for the drivers at I/Os to ensure that the direction of data flow can be changed.

    Regards,

    Jack
