CD40106B: Inquiry on Designing Schmitt Trigger Circuit with CD40106BE to Generate ±1V Square Wave

Part Number: CD40106B

Tool/software:

Dear TI support team,

I am designing a Schmitt trigger positive feedback circuit using the OPA you recommended (for example, the TI CD40106BE). I would like to generate a square wave with a voltage range of -1V to 1V. Could you please provide guidance or any relevant application notes on how to achieve this?

Thank you for your assistance.

  • Logic devices always output voltages near the supplies (GND/VCC), and the input switching thresholds are not very well defined. You probably want to use a comparator instead.

Do you have ±1 V supply voltages? What is the frequency? Is there an input signal, or are you trying to build an R-C or crystal oscillator?
