SN74AC244: Continuous current through VCC or GND

Part Number: SN74AC244

Tool/software:

Hi,

There are two specifications for the absolute maximum rating of the output current. What is the difference between the two specifications?

I believe that "Continuous output current" is the total current that the device can drive from each output terminal, but what kind of condition is the "Continuous current through VCC or GND" specification assuming?

According to the drive capacity of the device, this current will not be exceeded under normal usage, so does it assume external factors?

If so, please give me a specific example.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,
Hiroshi
