SN74LVC573A-Q1: Should LE be pulled down?

Part Number: SN74LVC573A-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi, I'm trying to determine if LE needs to be pulled down in my design.  The plan is to have OE pulled high on the board and then drive it low once power has reached a steady state, LE will also be driven low at this time.  The latches will then remain inactive until there is a command to send input values and latch them.  All of the inputs will be pulled down.  So my question is, should LE be pulled down as well?  Obviously when the inputs are ready to be latched LE will be pulsed high.  I'm just trying to determine if I need to pull LE low on the board or if driving it low after power up is sufficient.

  • The LE input (like any other input) should not be left floating while the '573 is powered. When there is some time between powering up and the MCU driving the LE signal, then it can make sense to add a pull-down.
