Hi expert,

My customer is testing SN74LVC1G14 and found the ICC is closed to 2mA, which is more than 10uA in datasheet show. Please help to analyze this issue. Thanks.

Test condition: VCC=5.5V. And other pins are float.

The test condition for I_CC is that the input has a valid logic voltage. You are seeing shoot-through currents; see [FAQ] How does a slow or floating input affect a CMOS device?

Hi Ryker,

As Clemens mentioned, please redo the test by setting Vi to 5.5V or GND. Inputs cannot be left floating.

Hi Albert,

Customer has tried to set Vi to 5.5V and GND, but the ICC still more than 10uA:

Set Vi to GND, the ICC is 30uA

Set Vi to 5.5V, the ICC is 40uA

Hi Ryker,

Where are you measuring the current?

I can't tell from the pictures you have sown.

However, I will see if I can order some devices and investigate this.

Hi Albert,

They used a bench multimeter to measure the current of VCC. I have ordered some samples to test in Lab too.

Hi Ryker,

Sounds good, I was just curious whether they were measuring closer to the supply or the device.

I will keep you updated whenever I get my samples.
