SN74AXC4T245: Chip application problem

Part Number: SN74AXC4T245

Tool/software:

May I ask about the SN74AXC4T245 component? I noticed that the datasheet does not specify that VCCB must be greater than VCCA. Does it mean that the voltage of VCCB and VCCA can be either higher or lower, and it doesn't matter?

Does the difference between VCCB and VCCA affect the maximum speed of the chip?  Are there specific recommended values for VCCB and VCCA?  How is this recommended value considered?

  • There are no restrictions on VCCA and VCCB.

The propagation delays for all VCCA/VCCB combinations are specified in sections 5.6…5.13.

  • Hello Tony,

Adding to what Clemens said, you may be thinking of auto-direction devices when it comes to supply voltage restrictions. Direction-control devices like the AXC family does not have such restrictions.

Under the Switching Characteristics table in the datasheet, you will see max propagation delay. Generally, propagation delay will be lower when the output voltage is higher.
