SN74ABT8646: SN74ABT8646DL Replacement Options

Part Number: SN74ABT8646

Tool/software:

I have several boards that use the SN74ABT8646DL variant of the 74ABT8646 family, which is a SSOP-28 pin device. Mouser says the chip is obsolete, but digikey has at least some in stock. I could not find this variant here in the TI website, but it does have the SOIC-28 in stock. Is there an alternate part that will fit in the SSOP-28 package that will perform the same function?

    What I mean by alternate is would something like a SN74ABT8543DW work as an equivalent or some other device within the Scan Test Devices With Octal Bus Transceivers And Registers family work to replace it?

    Rochester Electronics is the authorized distributor for discontinued TI devices; DigiKey allows to buy through them. I recommend that you buy now all that you will ever need, because these 5670 are all that is left.

    The only replacement is to build a SOIC-to-SSOP adapter board.

    I was hoping for better news, but your response was what I was expecting. Thank you for the response. I have thought about making a breakout for a SOIC to SSOP; not easy but not impossible. Thanks again for responding.
