Tool/software:

  • I am currently working on a research project that requires connecting a designed comparator to an external buffer, and then measuring the signal using an oscilloscope. The oscilloscope uses a 50-ohm SMA connector.

    The specifications of the comparator are as follows:

    Single-ended output, Voltage Swing = 0~0.9V, Speed = 10GHz.

    May I ask if there is a suitable buffer product for this requirement?

    10 GHz is far beyond what logic devices can handle.

    Fast comparators like the TLV3801 have a propagation delay of 225 ns and an LVDS output. The fastest analog buffer is the BUF802, with 3.1 GHz. RF amplifiers like the TRF1305B1 go up to 7.2 GHz; faster ones like the TRF1213 do not support DC.
