In the diagram below, EX_LEDG, EX_LEDR, and EX_LEDB are connected to the GPIOs of the MCU (28388DZWT). During the brief period between MCU reset and boot (less than approximately 100 ms), the GPIO outputs of the MCU are in an open-drain state. In this state, the inputs of the SN74LVC3G17 IC are effectively left floating (open-drain), but its outputs go high. Why does this happen?
There is a brief unintended activation of the circuit during this reset-to-boot transition. In the case of the SN74LVC3G17, is it normal for the output to go high when the input is left floating (open-drain)? Is there a way to make the output low during this time?
