There is a footnote on the bottom of page 1of the CD14538B datasheet that indicates the equation for setting the timeout value of the multivibrator as:
T = 0.5 RxCx for Cx ≥ 1000 pF
however the Dynamic Electrical Characteristics table on page 4 shows that for Cx=0.1 uF, Rx=100 KΩ the timeout is ~10 ms and for Cx=10uF, Rx=100 KΩ the timeout is ~1s both of which violate the equation called out on page 1.
What is the correct equation for calculating the timeout period of this device?
