SN74HCS126: SN74HCS126

Part Number: SN74HCS126
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AHCT1G125, UCC27517, SN74AHCT125

Tool/software:

Dear TI team,

I am going to use IC- SN74HCS126 to buffer uC 3.3V PWM (Freq- 50 kHz to 500 kHz) to 5V logic level.

I need to confirm below points;

1. Can this IC work on PWM with mentioned freq? As I am using this between uC and Driver IC of Mosfet, to feed 5V PWM to the Mosfet driver.(3.3v PWM from uC buffered to 5V via this IC- SN74HCS126)

2. What is the minimum Pulse width required in input side to have output ??

Please help with this.

  • HCS devices do not support 3.3 V input signals with a 5 V supply. You need a level shifter, or a device with TTL-compatible inputs like the SN74AHCT1G125.

    If you do not have better information, then the minimum pulse width is the worst-case propagation delay.

    Consider using a gate driver with 3.3 V-compatible inputs like the UCC27517.

  • Thanks for response,

    Please confirm, will this PN suitable?? - SNx4AHCT125

    I need to confirm below points;

    1. Can this IC work on PWM with 20kHz to 100 kHz freq? As I am using this between uC and Driver IC of Mosfet, to feed 5V PWM to the Mosfet driver.(3.3v PWM from uC buffered to 5V via this IC- SNx4AHCT125 )

    2. What is the minimum Pulse width required in input side to have output ??

  • 1. Yes, both the SN74AHCT1G125 and SN74AHCT125 will work.

    2. The minimum pulse width is the worst-case propagation delay.

  • Thanks for the quick resolution.
