SN74AVC16T245: output glitch during VCCB powerdown

Part Number: SN74AVC16T245

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

We are using SN74AVC16T245 for 3.3V to 3.3V buffer, OE and DIR pin are pull low so the signal direction is CHB to CHA. Keep VCCA with 3.3V power, we execute 3.3V power down at VCCB side(3.3VB rail), we can see the 2Ax output will have pull low glitch shortly then back to normal high, the VCCB voltage is about 0.6V when glitch happened. Could you help me understand why we have glitch here? thanks.

  • Hello Wiky,

The glitch is most likely occurring from device entering Hi-Z state when VCCB approaches zero.

During power-up or power-down conditions, we recommend /OE be pulled to VCCA. This will force I/Os into a Hi-Z condition and minimize false logic level from appearing on I/O bus.

    Regards,

    Josh
