Tool/software:

When the Multi-Channel Analog comparator is configured with only one channel to be sampled, the simulation is extremely low (it takes minutes instead less than one second with 2 channels selected) Is there a work around other than configuring 2 channels instead of one ?

  • Hi Alexandre,

Are you on an old ICS version? Previously, the simulation was configured differently due to how the MCACMP worked in the device, such that when you were sampling only one channel a very fast oscillator was used in the background instead of the normal 2 or 10kHz options. However, I have fixed that in the latest version of the tool. If you are using the latest version it shouldn't take a long time.

    Best,

    Malcolm

  • I'm using  1.4.0+953 based on sysconfig 1.23.1+4015

In meantime, if I choose some specific value for the comparator (1.042V for example) the simulation failed with an error "spiceDataFile : file not initialized, simulation results are incorrect

Although the "compilation"/configuration/real test are ok

  • Hi Alexandre,

I would download ICS 1.5.0 from the website and use that instead. Here is a simulation using the MCACMP, single channel, which only took me about 2 seconds to run:

There were some issues with the MCACMP single channel and voltage references in older versions but they should all be fixed in the latest version on the website. If you are still seeing issues after installing the latest version, I suspect it's a conversion issue and you might need to recreate the file in the latest version of the tool instead of converting it. I don't think that will be necessary though.

    Best,

    Malcolm

  • Version 1.5 is much faster (generally speaking) and fix both voltage issue and duration of simulation
