TPLD1202-DYY-EVM: Is GPI (2) "EXT CLK0" limited to 3.6V max?

Part Number: TPLD1202-DYY-EVM

Tool/software:

On the silkscreen near P2 of the EVM it reads "EXT CLK0 3V6 Max". Is this input pin really limited to 3.6V max. ? Or is it 3.6V max when powered from 3.3V. What is the maximum voltage when powered from 5V?

I have a permanently programmed device running in the EVM with the programmer cable disconnected. I've ran the EVM with external power at 3.3V and 4.8V. I need the GPI (2) to accept a 5V 150kHz square wave of varying duty cycle (which is being generated by another TI EVM operating at 5V).

Thanks,

Chris Stell

  • Hi Chris,

The pin input is not what is limited to 3.6V. The warning mentioned refers to the maximum that the pin itself will output during programming. You are still able to apply 5V to the pin with no worries as long as it is not connected during programming.
