Hi,

We are planning to use the CD4060B part in our design.

We require a time delay of 5 Seconds for that we have selected Clock resistor 450K, External Resistor of 150K and External capacitor of 0.1uF.

Can we use this Counter for this 5seconds duration?

Also we need to hold the output status, for that we are loop backing the output to clock pin.

Please confirm the schematic connections, also provide suggestions if any changes are required.

Hi Babu,

For these devices, we recommend bench testing as timing is not made to be precise. There are many variations due to RC tolerances.

Hi Albert,

We will take care for timing like using high precision resistors.

Can we hold the output status with the diode connection.

Hi Babu,

The schematic looks good to me. I believe the diode hold should work fine.
