Does the LVC chip require a resistor to Vcc +3.3V ? or can it be connected directly if not connected to another source ?

You can connect the input directly to V_CC. The SN74LVC1G10 itself does not care, but a resistor might be helpful when debugging.

Thank you Clemens for a complete answer. To broaden my understanding beyond LVC chips : do all CMOS technologies allow a direct connection of unused inputs to Vcc or does it only apply to some of CMOS (for ex. LVC) but not to others ?
