Tool/software:

Hi Team,

We got error message "Device ID is not defined " when first time config TPLD1201 EVM. We didn't change and just follow the user guide to open EVM sample code. Could you please help to check if there is anything wrong? Thanks.

  • Hi Wayne,

Could you please share a picture of your EVM setup?

  • Hi Ian,

Please find the picture in below.

  • Hi Wayne,

Could you please share a picture of the EVM board connected to the computer? I'd like to check the power connector and the jumper configuration. Also, I recommend taking the device out of the socket and putting it back in, ensuring that pin 1 is in the correct location.

    Best,

    Ian

  • Hi Ian:

    Thanks for your reply.

This is Gary and it's my question. Mr. Wayne help me to post this help message. I did double check as your request and toke PIC as below.

Sorry for a mistake ....that my EVM is TPLD1202-DYY-EVM and the chip is TPLD1202.

Program & EVM are connected to my PC, and it's has been set by Windows10 as COM6.

As showing in the PIC, Sometime.... it may configure to 72% and get suck or it's showing "Device ID is not defined" immediately. The jumper configuration are showing on this PIC also.

The Pin1 should be correct, as the picture below.

  • Hi Gary,

It looks like the power to the device is off. Please check that SW4 (next to the header pins) is in the ON position (the tip of the arrow).

  • Hi Ian:

The Power SW, I tried both ON and OFF state. It goes the same 72% then get stuck.

I had received a new TPLD1201 EVM last week and it's working on my system. Which means the bug should be somewhere on the TPLD1202 EVM.

I did a "MONKEY TEST" on the TPLD1202 EVM and it comes out that I have to push the reset key on the PROGRAMMER before CONFIG.

Yes, my TPLD1202 EVM is working now.  Thanks for TI team's help .

    Gary
