Tool/software:
In the SN74LVC245A Datasheet on page one it states:
* Supports Mixed-Mode Signal Operation on Ports (5-V Input/Output Voltage With 3.3-V VCC) 
Why would it say 5V OUTPUT voltage with 3.3 a supply voltage?
Or can this drive a 5V output from a 3.3 supply?
