SN74AS808B: SN74AS808BDW

Part Number: SN74AS808B

Tool/software:

Hey,

I am using this Logic Ic and I am using this LF2388BTR drive to run my 3 half bridge BLDC . I am using 3 hall sensors in the motor with Voltage 110 V dc 560 watt 3200 rpm and I noticed that as I increase the voltage above 40 volts motor starts getting higher current and start vibration and if i push it more then it just damages my driver IC. For clockwise direction motor starts this too early at 20 volts. what do you think could be problem?

Thanks

  • Hi Farhan,

You mentioned in the title the SN74AS808B. Do you have concern with the AND gate specifically, and if you do, do you have waveforms I would be able to view to help diagnose the issue? It seems to me the issue likely lies in the gate driver or the hall sensor placement/configuration.

If you do not have an issue with the AND gate I would recommend looking into TI half bridge drivers, and creating a post using that part number or the hall sensor, as these teams will likely have more specific knowledge on those sections of your application. TI even has half bridge drivers with integrated control, so you could remove the need for hall sensors altogether. I'm not an expert on these parts, so if you would like recommendations I would recommend posting a new question with your specifications to the motor drivers forum or use one of the part numbers from this page to be directed to the right team Brushless DC (BLDC) motor drivers.

    Regards,
