request clarification of operating circuit. the app notes show strong pull-ups on the higher voltage bus side (150 ohms to 5V in one drawing). do we need such strong pull-ups? we actually don't need to drive a full voltage swing on the high side, but do need to clamp on the low side. we will have a 3.3V CPU on the low side and a 5V bus device on the high side, but the 5V device has TTL level input requirements, so it doesn't need a full 5V input swing. We cannot drive such strong resistors from the CPU side when driving a logic low (CPU can't drive bus that strongly). we would prefer to use 5K or more. It seems to me that we may not even need pull-ups, or are they necessary to device operation?
