I am using a cd4040be as a counter, and it seems to be having problems counting every 8th number, starting with 1. It very consistently skips 1 and then counts normally from 2 to 8, and occasionally skips 9 and other multiples of 8 plus 1. Has anyone seen this problem before or have any idea what might be causing it?
