SN74AHC244: Buffer with 3V logic input and 5V logic output

Hello,

i'm using in a design of mine the buffer in the subject. I supplied it at 5V because at the output side i need a 5V digital output but i have at the input a signal with 3.3V logic input. It always worked (i've been using it for 2 years), but now i'm working in a new release of the circuit and i read from the data sheet that Vih is 3.85V so it can't work with 3.3V logic signal. Is it that true and does it exist a version that can accept 3.3V at the input side while the output is 5V (i mean a drop-in replacement)
