Using TXS0108E along with ULN2003A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ULN2003A, TXS0108E, SN74LVC8T245

Dear All,

Can we use TXS0108E along with ULN2003A.

In my design i am using TXS0108E for level shifting from 3.3V to 5V.

ULN2003A is used for motor drive.

Output of TXS0108E is given to input of  ULN2003A.

Please suggest.

 Thank you in advance,

 Best Regards,

 Sanjay

  • TXS0108E should be fine.  It is an open drain output and will be highly dependent on the driver that is driving the TXS0108E.  I believe the ULN2003A can accept normal logic levels on the input side.

You could also try the SN74LVC8T245, which has standard CMOS outputs.

  • Dear Roland,

Thank you for the intime support.

When i use  TXS0108E with ULN2003A , that is when i connect output of TXS0108E (5V) to input of ULN2003A , the voltage gets dropped to 2.6V from 5V .

In this case should i use a pull up resister between the TXS0108E and ULN2003A .

    Please suggest.

    Thank you in advance.
