TXB0102: TI.TXB0102 bi-directional abnormal behavior

Part Number: TXB0102

Hi Sirs,

Current project have use TI.TXB0102 to achieve general I/O bi-directional and voltage transfer from low (1.8-V) to high (5.0-V) level convert case, here is my design schematic be reference.

After review the datasheet, mentioned external resistor is need and also place over 50K-ohm be recommend, so use 100K-ohm (Location: R336,R338,R340,R342) on A-Side & B-side.

Now, this design meet an one abnormal condition as lists,

(1) if remove TXB0102, confirm the Pin-A2 (Net: TXB0102_LS_A2_1V8) can measure correct voltage level to 1.8-V.

(2) if staff TXB0102, the Pin-A2 (Net: TXB0102_LS_A2_1V8) measure become to around 0.2-V voltage and it should be abnormal condition.

Also, have try the other one PCBA and meet the samiliar case-(2). For Case-(2) describe abnormal, do you have any debug direction on here? Need you great support to brain-storming together.

  • Hi Neil,

What is the setup that results in A2 measuring 0.2V? Is it during level shifting operation or default state? From the schematic this signal appears to be an input provided by NV_GPIO12. Can you probe this pin with TXB0102 disabled?

    Regards,

    Jack

  • Hi Jack,

after checked the whole TXB0102 design route & mount condition, I find possible it's produce ate tined cause (for not ate complete).

so, this one issue can be ignore directly and many tks!!

  • Hi Jack,

In this TXB0102 design case and review the datasheet architecture, I have an one question to asking for how many I/O current driven strength necessary if enable behavior bi-directional?

I don't quite follow, can you please elaborate on this point?

In this TXB0102 design case and review the datasheet architecture, I have an one question to asking for how many I/O current driven strength necessary if enable behavior bi-directional?

That would be +/- 3mA (additional details can be found on section 7.3.2 of the datasheet).
